What We’re Building Around Swan Hill

Helping You Understand What’s Involved Before You Start Building or Renovating

If you’re thinking about building, renovating or extending, one of the hardest parts is knowing what’s realistic — what can be done, how long it might take, and what to expect along the way. At Halligan Construction, we believe sharing real projects helps answer those questions before you even pick up the phone.

Right now, we’re working on a renovation and extension on McCallum Street for a local family who needed more space as their household has expanded. Instead of moving, they chose to adapt their existing home. This project shows how an older house can be updated to suit modern living, with additional bedrooms, a new living area and a refreshed exterior that improves both comfort and value.

We’re also building a new outdoor entertaining area overlooking the Murray River. For homeowners considering similar upgrades, this project demonstrates how outdoor spaces can be designed to work with the natural surroundings, creating an area that’s practical, enjoyable and usable year-round — not just something that looks good on paper.

On Murlong Street, we’re progressing two residential units that are tracking ahead of schedule and expected to reach lock-up by the end of February. For anyone considering a multi-unit build or investment project, this is a good example of how clear planning, sequencing and communication help keep timelines predictable.

Another current project is a home office extension on Boree Drive. The client needed a dedicated workspace without compromising their existing home layout. Because the build sits close to a boundary, it required careful design, fire-rated construction and close coordination with council. This kind of project highlights the importance of working with a builder who understands local requirements before construction begins.

We’re also delivering our first transportable home on Werrill Street in Swan Hill, in partnership with Vic Housing Group. Transportable homes can suit property investors and rural clients looking for efficient, well-built housing solutions, and this project helps demonstrate how that process works from start to finish.

Every project we take on is guided by the same focus: helping clients make informed decisions, setting clear expectations, and delivering work that meets both practical needs and regulatory requirements.
